The Broward County Film Society is in the process of fulfilling a dream to not only make Cinema Paradiso a great venue to view great films both year-round and during the world renown Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, but also realizing our vision to transform Cinema Paradiso into a multi-use facility and a place to gather and have a place to call "home" in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Thanks to the Millennium Club and their mission to spearhead the transformation, Cinema Paradiso received a much needed new marquee last November. The front of Cinema Paradiso will soon receive a fresh coat of paint and the addition of a lighted sign. And ... the next step of the Millennium Club�s mission is to pave and add a tent to canopy the entire West side of Cinema Paradiso;
making the courtyard usable rain or shine!

You're invited to be a part of this transformation by having yourself, a loved one, or both immortalized at one of Broward County�s most beloved and historic Cultural Institutions, Cinema Paradiso.

You can show your personal support of the arts and of this charming art-house theatre with the purchase of a Signature Brick; a Brick, with your name, that will become a part of the paved courtyard. Spotlight Bricks are also great for Occasions of Giving like Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries, Valentines Day and other Holidays, Bar Mitzah's, Pets, Graduation, or as a memorial to someone who loved film and arts.

To add to the distinctiveness of the project, the Broward County Film Society will feature a brick with the names of prominent filmmakers and actors and the year they visited Cinema Paradiso. Going forward, you can be part of this exciting new tradition as we present each new celebrity special guest with their own Signature Brick to be placed in the Courtyard.

The 23rd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (October 16 - November 10, 2008) is the world's longest *Guiness World Recods), the oldest consecutively running Florida fest, Florida's top rated film fest (Florida Arts Council) and one of Broward's five Major Cultural Institutions. With 200 screenings of 150 films in venues stretching from Key West to St Augustine, FLIFF serves the widest constituent base of any festival in the country. In addition to our award winning programs of world and American independent film, FLIFF also provides free film seminars, free films for kids, free outdoor family movies, and a variety of gala events.
The 2008 FLIFF brings back an audience favorite venue The AMC Coral Ridge Theatre (October 24 - 30). The AMC was our first home,years before we created Cinema Paradiso. In addition to two non-stop screens, The AMC will also host our Festival Cafe, open to all filmmakers, press, corporate sponsors and Producer level and above members, The stunning Miniaci Theatre for the Performing Arts on the Nova Southeastern University campus in Davie will host our Gala Opening Night (Oct 17). But beyond a doubt, the Festival feels like home when we are at our year-round digs, Cinema Paradiso, complete with a full bar, The Paradiso Courtyard Patio, free parking, stadium seating in plush blue velvet seats, and the best sound & projection in South Florida.

On October 31st, the 4th Annual BOO-tacular will take place at Cinema Paradiso. From 6 � 8pm, kids can enjoy our Pumpkin Patch, Haunted House, Costume & Scream Contests, Halloween movies (easy on frights for the little ones) and treats. At 9pm things get scary for the older crowd!

There will be several free outdoor movies including Blockbusters at Pompano Fashion Square, Huizenga Plaza, and at Hollywood's ArtsPark.

The Official Entre Nous Opening Night party will take place at Signature Grand, just a five minute drive from The Miniaci. With celebrities in attendance, a live band, a fabulous silent auction and sumptuous buffet, this is one of the best known FLIFF events.

With year-round programming at Cinema Paradiso and throughout South Florida, FLIFF is a vacation from ordinary film.
