FIBERGLASS AND MEGAPIXELS shines the light on Hawaii's north shore winter surfing scene and exposes the true beauty within the over crowded image gathering free for all.

The surfing industry relies on these inspiring pictures from Hawaii to sell the surfing image to the masses. 4:30pm - NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: EXTREME
EXTREME is a visually stunning journey into the soul of adventure featuring a cast of world champion athletes. Combining incredible extreme sport action with narration from the athletes and an eclectic, contemporary soundtrack, EXTREME explores the paradox of human nature: facing fear from the edge of life. The film takes viewers to the edge of outdoor adventure sports like never before; skiing and snowboarding perilous untouched mountain peaks; climbing vertical frozen waterfalls and red-rock spires; surfing some of the largest waves ever surfed and windsurfing gale force winds. This mesmerizing film is now available for the first time on DVD and in spectacular Blu-ray high definition.

5:15pm: CODE RED Reggae Band - free in Courtyard

6pm - THE ENDLESS SUMMER 2
The documentary stars two young surfers, Robert "Wingnut" Weaver, 26, and Pat O'Connell, 20, who set out on an around-the-world odyssey to find the perfect wave. We follow the lads on their odyssey from Southern California to Costa Rica to France to South Africa to the Fiji Islands to Australia and back home again, with some footage of Hawaii even though Pat and Wingnut inexplicably did not visit there. On their travels they meet the bronzed veterans of the first "The Endless Summer" movie, all of them now 30 (or 28, or 27) years older, but still hanging out on the beach.

7:15pm - Mixed Culture Reggae Band - free in Courtyard

8pm - OCEAN TRIBE
Inspired by the true story of Bob Cook, a young cancer victim, "Ocean Tribe," the visually striking feature debut of writer-director Will Geiger, is a genre film with a twist: a serio-comic exploration of male camaraderie that, despite its death motif, is uplifting and exhilarating. Ahighly accomplished road movie with attractive ensemble and spectacular surfing scenes.

The film follows the conventions of the road-movie format, but also adds something new: a mystical, often enchanting ambience based on parallels drawn between a pod of dolphins and a close-knit clique of friends.

10pm - OCCY: THE OCCUMENTARY
Presented in memoriam to surfer, movie lover, and Cinema Paradiso friend, Steve Ciancio.

The life and times of Mark Occhilupo. This is a celebration of a great surfer's life. Following Occy from Cronulla grommet to his amazing comeback, this is the "Surfer Magazine Video of the Year" award winner. Soundtrack featuring Foo Fighters, Michael Brook, Ed Kuepper, Powderfinger, OSM, and Yothu Yindi. Early footage as a kid, he amazing competitive efforts, his Pipe win at 15, thru to his first professional win on his comeback at Bells Beach.

"... another one of those McCoy classics, entertaining enough to watch 10, 20 or 100 times. The bottom line: this video should be sitting alone, on a shelf, next to burning candles and your favourite photos of Occy ..." -Surfer Mag

Earlier filming but every inch as good as Endless Summer and Endless Summer II. Bruce Brown takes us to various surfing locales with his customary great photography, wry comments and solid musical score. The big waves of the North Shore of Oahu are among the many featured locations. Interesting twist to this one is his old narration was lost, so he redid it and we get commentary 30 years or so after the fact, which only adds to the fun.
