Of course the marriage is history if he discovers she is used goods, so her parents sequester the Princess away for nine months. They hire a poor peasant girl who, by chance is pregnant out of wedlock too. The plan is to deliver the baby and have the peasant girl raise it as her own.

DERVISCIO
2002, 35mm, Color, 132 min, Turkish & Italian w/ English sub-titles
Directed by Alberto Rondalli

It is difficult even for a dervish who should think much about the meaning of life. In Ottoman Empire in the 19th century no human right was to be argued. It was possible for the ones who dare, who cheat or did intrigued. But in the real life we also have roles. We play a good character or a bad character. A good man can only play good man successfully. If one tries the opposite it is much more possible to be the loser. In dark tones and dark colours among dust film flows very slowly to one good man's bad fate.

The film is very successfully cinematographed and screenplay is a very good adoption of the original book Dervish and the Death. Most of the Turkish actors are of theater origin and good at the mimics and gestures needed in close plan.

CPR will be at the Cannes Film Market this May securing new titles.
