GET IN THE PICTURE
From beaches, museums and world-class dining to rural horse pastures and The Everglades, Broward County offers a diverse and unique lifestyle for the nearly two-million people that call it our home. Now, the long awaited sequel to the Broward County Film Society’s 2013 project, MOVIES OF OUR LIVES is here;
GET IN THE PICTURE: Tales from the 954 invites everyone in our community to share their stories of life in Broward County.
To participate, all you need to do is create a two minute (or less) video that showcases your life in here in the 954 (or 754!). The films can be live action narrative, short animation, or documentary. Categories will also include Middle and High School films, as well as adult entries.
Then, during a three day festival at Savor Cinema (August 11 – 13), we will edit the videos into a collage about our collective lives in Broward County.
The three day program will be a showcase for both amateur and professional filmmakers alike to submit original films, two minutes or less, that showcase the unique culture, natural beauty and diversity of Broward County and the community that lives and works in it.
Each day will feature a different series of films that are curated both thematically and by age group (Middle School, High School, Adult). The final night will feature a champagne toast and red carpet. A program will be printed with all the entries.
It’s FREE to submit a film. Just follow the directions on the application below.
All submissions must be received by July 1, 2025
