“This is one dazzling movie to get deliriously lost in. Surely (Pascal Bonitzer’s) smartest, sleekest, most wickedly assured script in a sixty-year career.” – Kurt Brokaw, The Independent
AUCTION: FRENCH REVIEWS
“Inspired by a true story, the film is less about art than about the interests linked to it. All with finesse and humor, without ever exaggerating.” – Le Parisien | 4 STARS
“If we put this stolen painting up for auction, hands wouldn’t stop going up in the room. Bonitzer once, Bonitzer twice, Bonitzer three times? Sold. The buyer will not regret his action.” – Le Figaro | 4 STARS
“Its elegant story captivates and amuses at the same… brilliant in its writing, both in the crafty dialogues and in the characterization of the characters played by amazing actors.” – Le Journal du Dimanche | 4 STARS
“A well-crafted scenario on an unexpected subject, satisfying dialogues, a classic but effective direction, and a great cast make this latest film by Pascal Bonitzer both instructive and entertaining.” – FranceInfo Culture | 4 STARS
