OVERTIME

SYNOPSIS: Noah is a homeless, transgender teen in desperate need of cash. He arrives to Kowalski Extermination hoping to convince its owner, Lou, to hire him. Lou is less than thrilled by Noah’s arrival, and after a combative exchange—during which Noah refuses to share to his name—Lou is called off to take care of some rats and kicks Noah out. Lou returns to find Noah has filched his keys and “cleaned up” to prove his usefulness. The two get into another argument, during which Noah begins to realize that Lou is not an ordinary exterminator but some kind of monster exterminator. Lou is called off on another job, demands that Noah put everything back the way it was, and promises to consider hiring him.
When Lou eventually returns, he brings with him an ominous chest with a monster inside. He looks for a potion to defeat it but can’t find it since Noah moved around his things. The two scramble looking for it and stumble on it just in the nick of time, stopping the monster. Lou explodes at Noah, blaming him for the close call. He orders Noah to put everything back, tells him he will never hire him, and leaves on another call. Lou returns hours later having cooled off. He finds Noah passed out on the floor of his office. Lou apologizes and Noah explains that he has no home to go to. The two open up to one another: Noah shares his name and Lou offers him the job. The film ends with the two preparing to answer another job.
