THE STRANGE DARK

The future is a mystery; it is the strange dark.

USA / 2024 / 84 min / English / A Sci-Fi Comedy of Menace

Edgar believes he can see the future, but his wife thinks he’s mad, his daughter thinks he’s strange, and the agents from double star accounting will stop at nothing to get their data back.

Chris Messineo has put together a clever comedy that is story and character driven.  With tight script and terrific cast, the film will surprise and delight.

DIRECTOR: Chris Messineo is an award-winning writer and director. As the owner and director of NJ Film School, he has taught the craft of independent filmmaking to hundreds of kids, teens, and adults – who have gone on to win their own awards for writing and directing.  “The Strange Dark” is his first feature length film.

STATEMENT: The only statement I have about “The Strange Dark” is, I hope you enjoy it. I do, however, want to share two stories about the making of it that you might find interesting.

First, I believe that film is a collaborative art and all those who work on it deserve to share in the rewards. Towards that end, our amazing cast and crew all own a piece of our movie.

Second, I’ve spent the last 24 years teaching screenwriting and filmmaking. “The Strange Dark” is my dream project and we had to turn to crowd-funding to help pay for it. I’m honored to say that 90% of the donations came from my students. I hope I’ve made them as proud as they make me.
