“Born in Ohio, raised in Florida, with high school years in the Virgin Islands, Gregory von Hausch has been contributing to the Florida arts scene since 1973, when he founded the Hippodrome State Theatre, North Florida’s only professional regional theatre. In 1989, he came on board as FLIFF’s Executive Director, and has been helping to build its reputation as one of the country’s preeminent regional festivals ever since.” — FilmFestivals.com
Awards include: IMPRESARIO Award, Florida Grand Opera (2013); CHEVALIER DE L’ORDRE DES ARTES ET DES LETTRES, Minstre de la Culture et de la Communication of France, presented by Aurelie Filippetti; and Champion of Downtown, Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority (2014).
In 2024, Gregory celebrates his 36th year as Director of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, the second longest tenure in the nation.
