Asherah’s Colors
Broward / English / 30 min / Romance / 2024
Asherah’s Colors is a vibrant film written, directed, and produced by Gary Mazeffa, a talented filmmaker and storyteller. The story follows two protagonists: Raphael, a shy young Italian student portrayed by Connor Tuohy, and Asherah, a beautiful and bold character played by Shira Behore. The film captures the essence of youthful innocence, playfulness, and the emergence of love in its purest and most magical form. Colors play a critical role in the narrative, infusing memorable moments with meaning and vibrancy. Asherah embodies the dream girl, representing everything a young boy could hope for. She brings light and color to everything around her, acting as a savior and a modern hero. A standout aspect of the short film is the dynamic and expressive artwork of Hessam Abrishami, an Iranian artist who appears as himself. Abrishami brilliantly illustrates the stages of falling in love, capturing the true essence of romance. Asherah’s Colors is a romantic fairy tale rich with profound themes. It showcases love’s transformative power, bringing color to an otherwise black-and-white existence and positively impacting those it touches.
