SYNOPSIS: Leaving her corporate life in Rio de Janeiro, Clarissa Paz found her life’s mission as a volunteer
at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi. Aiming to address issues of marginalization, Clarissa
co-founded the Ubuntu Nation Project, providing thousands of refugees education, healthcare,
employment, and housing.
But when she hears that young orphans live alone in the camp, Clarissa and her husband
petition the Malawian government to adopt 13 children. Faced with legal adoption obstacles,
Clarissa refuses to give up and takes matters into her own hands by circumventing systemic
restrictions to help kids in need. Clarissa must now balance service work, legal challenges, and
mothering her growing family.
