Someone Loves You is a narrative short offering a tender and layered portrait of mental illness and generational healing within a Jamaican-American family. Set in the Bronx, New York the 24-minute film follows estranged relatives navigating the quiet unraveling of their once-famous matriarch, an artist whose legacy is shadowed by schizophrenia and the silence that surrounds it. All seem to disagree on how best to care for and honor the legacy of their mother, while tensions and silence around mental health close in on them.
