Serbian Film Festival Miami 2024 presents the movie “The Formula Guardians” by Dragan Bjelogrlić.
In the midst of the Cold War crisis, a group of scientists at the Vinča Institute are conducting a secret project led by Professor Dragoslav Popović. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they are exposed to a lethal dose of radiation, which leads the Yugoslav secret police to take them for treatment at the Curie Clinic in Paris.
The French medical team, headed by Professor Georges Mathieu, concludes that their condition is critical and their days are numbered. Although Professor Mathieu has dedicated his life to combating nuclear armament and deeply despises the project the Yugoslav scientists were working on, he suggests performing the first-ever delicate and uncertain bone marrow transplant on the irradiated patients.
Whether this is an experiment on living humans or a genuine attempt to help them becomes a troubling question for the Yugoslav scientists.
