Feature documentary that illuminates the journey of an unsung artist, Jack Garfein – Holocaust camp survivor, Actors Studio co-founder and teacher, celebrated Broadway director and controversial filmmaker – revealing how art can engage our collective memory to better illuminate our present.

 

Director: Award-winning director, writer, and producer Tessa Louise-Salomé’s work foregrounds visually-poetic approaches to storytelling. Her credits as a director include the Sundance Jury Prize nominee Mr. X: A Vision of Leos Carax. As a producer, they notably include films combining social justice issues with a focus on the artist’s creative universe and have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, Tribeca, IFFR or CPH:DOX.
