Born in Brazil in 1821. Anita Garibaldi, mother of four, died at the young age of 28 in Italy but led an adventurous life and fought crucial battles for the freedom of the Brazilian and Italian people. Yet for many she is known merely as the faithful wife of the hero of two worlds, Giuseppe Garibaldi. In the light of most recent research, careful analysis of her biography reveals an autonomous, independent woman capable of difficult and often uncomfortable choices. Anita’s truth offers us a new narrative of historical events delivered from an unprecedented perspective with an extraordinary modern language. Anita is back. She is ready to tell us her story.
