To kick start our 40th anniversary, the Boward Couty Film Society is thrilled to introduce FLIFFShorts as a companion piece to the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. The inaugural FLIFFShorts will be held February 14th – 17th at Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale
WHAT IS A SHORT FILM FESTIVAL: “Short film festivals hold a unique position in the cinema landscape, serving as a catalyst for innovation and a platform for emerging filmmakers. These festivals not only celebrate short films but also significantly influence the broader industry by showcasing fresh talent and new ideas.”
WHY ARE SHORT FILMS IMPORTANT: “Short films are culturally important because they are a form of artistic expression free from the economic constraints that can weigh down the feature film circuit, for example.
